Richard Edge - Winner of Outstanding Services to Business in the Waipa

We are excited and honoured to announce that Accounted4 Consultant, Richard Edge, received the award for Outstanding Services to Business at the Waipa Networks Business Awards last Friday evening

Richard (Ritchie) Edge, born and bred in Cambridge, is highly deserving of this award as he has dedicated more than 50 years to supporting businesses in the Waipa with high level accountancy and business advice. In 2014 Ritchie was recognised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants NZ for reaching 50 years as a chartered accountant.

An outstanding citizen, trusted advisor and all round 'gentleman' Ritchie has for many years supported local charitable non-profit organisations, including currently in his 22nd year on the Cambridge Resthaven Trust Board. He was also appointed a Justice of the Peace in May 1995, over 21 years ago, endorsing his commitment to fully support the community he lives and works in.

Ritchie has willingly, and without hesitation, taken on the role of mentor for 'up and coming' young professionals and leaders in our business community - sometimes without even realising! He coordinated the Approved Training Organisation programme at Accounted4 (formally Shannon Wrigley & Co) for many years and mentored graduate accountants through to gain their Chartered Accountancy qualification.

Still an avid reader and researcher of current business trends, Ritchie consistently shares his insightful findings with his clients and business colleagues, proving you are never too old to keeping learning and upskilling.

We cannot speak highly enough of Ritchie. He is a thoughtful, knowledgeable and caring 'pillar of society' and, as he begins his transition to retirement, it is fantastic and rewarding to see him recognised in this way
